As fresh produce hits peak production in New Hampshire this summer, it will also be in abundance on the walls of the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s Gallery 6. A new art exhibit, For The Love of Food, will feature images of healthy fruits and vegetables created by more than a dozen acclaimed New Hampshire artists. This show will be on exhibit from June 1 – September 5.

Gallery 6 is partnering with noted dietician Eileen Behan of Rye, NH, in For the Love of Food, an art exhibit featuring nutritious foods – especially fruits and vegetables – depicted in attractive and irresistible ways. Throughout the exhibit, Eileen has added nutritional information, recipes, and helpful suggestions designed to support caregivers as they encourage kids to make wise food choices. More than a dozen New Hampshire artists have been invited to contribute to this visual smorgasbord with artwork – in mediums such as painting, photography, and illustration – that celebrates food.

These colorful, lively, and fun interpretations of fruits and vegetables – from apples to zucchini – offer a true feast for the eyes. The For The Love of Food exhibit in Gallery 6 can be viewed during regular business hours at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover: Tuesday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 p.m. and Sunday noon – 5 p.m. (also open Mondays 10-5 during July & August). No admission fee is required to view the gallery only. Regular admission applies for families who wish to explore the rest of the museum.
